[Disclaimer & legal mumbo-jumbo]

Please try to excuse my patronising tone, here and elsewhere.
I know that it can be - together with the latin snippets - irritating and pompous.
Unfortunately I do not seem able to correct this defect of mine.

If you want to, you can help. You don't need to

[Ab amicis honesta petamus]

My previous experiences on the web have sadly convinced me that feedback is almost always useless. The immense quantity of zombies annoying you with selfish requests is in no relation whatsoever with the very few interesting contribution crumbs one can hope to receive.
There are exceptions, though, and for that reason I'll still give it a try: Like all sites offering knowledge for free, my site needs your contributions to develop and ameliorate. Building on each other's shoulders we will eventually be able to reach higher levels and to send a couple of interesting "snowballs of ours" down the webhill. That's the reason I would like those of you that have enjoyed the knowledge found on my site to (try to) contribute with your own experiences, lists of querystrings or simple observations... if you reckon you found something valuable on my site, that is. If you do contribute, then others will be able to use your knowledge to progress even further: some other readers will contribute as well, thus helping others - as always - we'll all help ourselves.
Of course you don't need to help nor to contribute in order to enjoy this site. You may just leech everything you find here at leisure, if you prefer to do so, just go back to the [basic page], browse along and enjoy. Farewell

On the other hand, if you wish to help me, read further.

You may help me if you:
Special help: Donors & university teachers

Donors (not sponsors, I hate sponsors) may any time send me enough money (actually quite a lot) to allow me to leave my well-paid (if boring) real life job for a couple of years in order to dedicate all my time to this endeavour. I would love it. See: there is no advertisement, no sponsoring, no 'banner to click' on my site: since I have chosen -purposely- NOT to prostitute it I'm actually loosing money with all this, just for the sake of it.

If you are an University teacher or director and are able to influence and/or organize workshops and/or conferences in your university, consider the possibility of inviting me.
I can present, with passion and purpose, a general introduction to global searching, any sort of how to search the web workshop or I can conduct more specifically oriented illustrated lectures, practical exercises, field searching seminars and technical web-reversing workshops.
I can teach my own new, innovative techniques or I can reinforce well-established methodologies through my reversing approach.

My lessons and seminars (up to 30 persons) are free for universities and public educational institutes, yet I do request reimbursement for my travel and accomodation costs.
European Union Universities will always have scheduling priority.
I can conduct courses in English, German, French, Spanish, Finnish or Italian (but I prefer to use english for terminological reasons).

Below are listed some examples of the most recent & important searching-related workshops I have held.  To obtain additional information concerning content and level of my workshops and seminars, just [contact me].

As a rule of thumb, contents are related to the web-savvyness of the partecipants: if people don't seem to understand a zilch we delve on the main search engines specifities and examine simple combing techniques, if the partecipants are web-savvy enough we examine bot-writing and some powerful approaches for 'algos and tools' reversing...

A recent workshop: Milan (Italy)
The art of information searching for the open culture aera

I held a conference/workshop in Milan (Italy) on 20 October 2000, celebrating the local "Linuxday". My [friend] [Richard Stallman] spoke in the morning (about GNU/Linux), I spoke in the afternoon about [The art of information searching for the open culture aera], presenting six short lesson/slides about simple effective searching techniques and 'the structure of the web'.

A recent workshop: Paris (France)
The art of information searching on today's Internet

Conference held on 6 February 2001 at the Ecole polytechnique (Paris). I spoke about [the art of information searching on today's Internet], presenting five short lesson/slides about not well known effective searching lore, 'the structure of the web', some simple pseudo-anonymity techniques and the way you can modify and use some commercial tools for your own searching purposes.

My next workshop: Brussels (Belgium)
How to find anything on the web: secrets and techniques for efficient seekers

This is a "closed" workshop, reserved for EU-officials. Workshop's minutes will be published after the conference.

Who I am

From software reversing to advanced web-searching: Old lore for a new science!

Quite a boring history actually, click on the link below only if you really want to read it. The reason for this "biography" (sort of) is that, as all searchers know, evaluating what you find on the web depends also from the "value" of the source you have found. And the value of a source depends a lot from its Author and his real qualifications.
